One key aspect of any successful student tour is ensuring that meals are convenient, budget-friendly, and enjoyable for large groups. They also need to be flexible when it comes to allergies. Restaurants for student groups in Quebec City

Côtes à Côtes in Lebourgneuf

Côtes à Côtes is a spacious, laid-back spot that’s perfect for student groups looking for a fun and filling meal. Known for its delicious ribs, burgers, and hearty comfort food, this restaurant serves up generous portions in a lively, welcoming atmosphere. The staff is friendly and efficient, and they’re clearly pros at handling large groups. Just a heads-up—there’s no designated bus parking, but buses can park on the street right in front of the restaurant.

Birra Basta

Located in the heart of St-Roch, Birra Basta is a fantastic spot for student groups who love Italian-inspired cuisine. With plenty of seating, they offer a pre-set menu that groups can choose in advance, ensuring quick and efficient service—so you can spend less time waiting for food and more time exploring the city!

Just a heads-up: buses can’t drive on St-Joseph Street, so your driver will need to drop the group off on Charest Boulevard or Rue de la Couronne near the Best Western Hotel.

Les Trois Brasseurs (all locations)

This popular microbrewery is known for its extensive menu featuring burgers, poutine, and classic French dishes. The staff is very accommodating and flexible. Les Trois Brasseurs is truly a restaurant that I trust. I know that everything will go smoothly when I go there with large groups. Choose the location on Grande Allée Street if visiting the Old City Pre-set menus are available and an appetizer, entrée and dessert.

Cochon Dingue (Grande Allée)

A Quebec City classic, Cochon Dingue is a small chain loved by locals. It offers a warm and inviting setting with a diverse menu featuring meals even the most picky student will enjoy. Le Cochon Dingue’s staff take allergies very seriously. The Grande Allée location is well-suited for groups, as it is minutes away from the Parliament Building and the Plains of Abraham Museum. Pre-set menus are available.

Casa Grecque Beauport

A favorite among student groups, Casa Grecque offers Mediterranean cuisine at budget-friendly prices. Every time I go there with student groups, I’m impressed by how efficient the service is. The portions are generous there so even the most hungry teenagers will have their bellies full. They also take allergies very seriously. Pre-set menus are available and there is plenty of space for buses.

Le Chic Shack

The Chic Shack is one of my go-to spots when I need a quick bite between tours in Old Quebec—even when I’m on my own! This cozy little restaurant is right next to the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, and it’s super easy to get to, especially since it’s near a main bus drop-off point. They have pre-set menus for groups, but when I’m there solo, I always go for the chicken salad (so good!).

St-Hubert (Grande Allée & Côte-de-Beaupré)

A staple in Quebec’s restaurant landscape for years, St-Hubert is well-known for its rotisserie chicken and family-friendly atmosphere. With multiple locations in and around Quebec City, it’s a reliable choice for student groups seeking a quick and satisfying meal. The Grande Allée location is very convenient when groups are having activities in the Old City and the one on the Beaupré Coast is perfect when visiting the Montmorency Falls, Ste-Anne Basilica or the Canyon Ste-Anne.

Boston Pizza in Lebourgneuf

Perfect for student groups, Boston Pizza offers a diverse menu featuring pizzas, pastas, and burgers in a laid-back setting. The Lebourgneuf location is welcoming and service is fast. Allergy management is very good too. This restaurant is located outside the city center and there might be traffic to get there but it is worth it.

L’Archibald (all locations in Quebec City)

With its cozy chalet vibe and diverse menu, L’Archibald is a great spot for student groups looking for a convenient and tasty meal. The restaurant serves up classic pub favorites like burgers, salads, and hearty mains. If you’re in the Old City, check out their location in the charming Petit-Champlain neighborhood!

Discover the most traditional foods of Québec

Traditional food of Quebec is as rich, vibrant and diverse as the province itself. The strongest influences on traditional Quebec cuisine come from France, British and Ireland, as they are the three largest ethnic groups in the province.

Restaurants for student groups in Quebec City Region

Sugar Shacks

A quintessential Quebec experience, sugar shacks offer an authentic taste of local culture. These rustic venues serve up traditional maple-infused meals, including pea soup, baked beans, maple ham, and, of course, tire d’érable! (maple taffy on snow). My favourite in the Quebec City region are L’Érablière du Lac Beauport and Érablière Chemin du Roy.

Moulin St-Laurent on Ile d’Orléans

For groups looking for a scenic dining experience, Moulin St-Laurent on Île d’Orléans is an excellent choice. Housed in a historic watermill, this restaurant serves locally inspired cuisine in a charming and picturesque setting.

Le Montagnais

Le Montagnais offers hearty meals in a relaxed setting, with options ranging from burgers to traditional Quebecois dishes. It’s a great stop for student groups looking for a casual dining experience near the Ste-Anne Basilica and Canyon Ste-Anne.
