I had the chance to experience AURA at Saint-Roch Church en primeur (before its official opening on December 5) and I’m still thinking about it. After astonishing millions of spectators in Montréal and Paris (and soon in San Francisco!), this iconic Moment Factory creation has finally arrived in Québec City. And it truly feels like the cultural event Saint-Roch has been waiting for. I was so thrilled to see it before everyone else, thanks to Kamai (who is in charge of the logistic and the ticketing) for the invitation!

AURA at Saint-Roch Church
A Prologue That Brings History to Life
The light show begins with a short five-minute prologue that highlights the rich history of Saint-Roch Church and even gives a quick overview of Québec City and the neighbourhood’s story. If you take one of my guided tour before seeing that light show, these events will sound familiar.
English-speaking visitors can easily enjoy this part using AURA’s mobile app, which provides a translation.
This introduction mixes visual creations and original music to revive the memory of the church. It sets the tone beautifully: heritage, storytelling, and emotion. As a local Quebec City, I was in awe!
A Celebration of Harmony Inside a Living Work of Art
Once the show starts, you’re carried into a luminous odyssey at the heart of the church. The spectacular 30-minute experience unfolds in several chapters. I’ll try not to spoil anything here!
Architecture Comes Alive
The first moments are breathtaking! Tthe church’s massive stone columns and arches awaken with mesmerizing light effects that pulse with the rhythm of the music.
Nature Takes Over
Gradually, water, earth, and flora flow across the vaults.
You’ll see Québec’s flora and fauna bloom and transform the church, including two of our most beloved emblems, the snowy owl and the Iris versicolor, Québec’s official flower.
It’s poetic, powerful, and deeply connected to our identity.
The Cosmos Opens Above You
Here’s a more human, natural version:
Suddenly, the ceiling turns into a night sky. Constellations, galaxies, and stars appear above you, moving with the music. It is simply spectacular!
A Universal Celebration
In the final sequence, the region’s fauna, and humanity itself, come together in a celebration of balance and harmony.
How much are the tickets for AURA?

Why AURA Matters in Saint-Roch
One thing that struck me is how meaningful it is to host this show outside Old Québec.
Saint-Roch is vibrant, creative, and constantly evolving and honestly, it needs and deserves events like this. AURA brings a new energy to the neighbourhood. I’m sure all business owners are happy to see Aura here.

Where is St-Roch Church located?
Saint-Roch Church is located right in the heart of the Saint-Roch neighborhood, at 555 Rue Saint-François Est. It’s only a 15–20 minute walk from Old Québec so it is easy to reach on foot. The area is also well served by public transit, and taxis or rideshares can drop you off directly at the entrance.
